The Amazon

The Amazon is one of the most under-appreciated regions in Colombia. Not many tourists visit it, yet it is one of the most interesting places to go in this biodiverse nation. Many activities surround this thick, thriving rainforest full of life. It is the largest rainforest in the world and contains the world's most copious river. It is really one of the most biodiverse places in the world and nature-lovers can't go to Colombia and miss out this fantastic experience.
The largest city in the region is Leticia, and it is a good place to start your adventure. Motor boats go out of this city to the Isla De Los Micos (Monkey Island), filled with birds, mammals and apes. Eco-tourism is widely famous for this area of the Amazon. Another very famous place to visit is the Amacayacú national park, which contains the river of the same name. It is known for becoming acquainted with the houses of the Indians, biological stations, river paths for excursions in search of caimans, and getting to know truly this nature-rich region in the very heart of the jungle. Hikes are very popular, and also canoeing around the many rivers of the jungle is regular for tourists. Many more activities await in this tropical paradise destination.
